Cow Bird Kitchen takes its name from a familiar sight on Florida ranchland: cattle grazing in the pasture with white cattle egrets in tow - affectionately known as “cowbirds.” It’s a nod to the ranching heritage that shaped this corner of Marion County and to the ranch house table, where hard work ended with good food and good company.

Throughout our menu, you’ll find a thread of smoke woven through many of our dishes - not because we’re a barbecue restaurant, but because smoke represents something we believe in. Like ranching, great cooking rewards patience. Fire, smoke, and time transform simple ingredients into something memorable, adding depth, character, and a little smoke to our soul.
